Tips to extend your Li-ion laptop batteries life:

  • Your new laptop battery comes in a discharged condition and must be charged before use (refer to your computer manual for charging instructions).

  • Try to avoid frequent full discharging of the battery.

  • For battery meter calibration, periodically do a full battery discharge, every 30 charges, to increase meter accuracy.

  • The Rechargeable undergo self-discharging when left unused for a long time. So it is necessary to recharge the battery after a storage period.

  • When charging battery for the first time your computer may indicate that charging is complete after just 10 or 15 minutes. This is a normal phenomenon with rechargeable batteries. Simply remove the battery from the computer and repeat the charging procedure.

  • Charge up completely, even if the battery isnt fully discharged, don’t run out of your Laptop Battery. Li-ion laptop batteries work best when they are recharged while they still have 10 to 20% capacity remaining. So if you are using your notebook battery on your journey, try not to get in the habit of using the notebook battery until it has almost no charge.

  • Recharge the battery in your notebook using the AC adapter, whether the notebook is on or off, with the right Voltage and Compatible Ampere.

  • Avoid heat, heat is the enemy, the temperature in a car can easily rise 50F in a single hour, in some cases reaching 140F.

  • If you plan to place your battery for storage, be sure to have the charge at 40% and stored in the fridge (not freezer) for maximum battery longevity.
